So this is your big anniversary (10, 15, 20, 25, 50, etc.) and you want to do something special? You have come to the right place. We will start first with suggestions on surprising your partner. Do not let your significant other view this web page. Hide it or something until after your anniversary or event. Then please come back and let us know how it went. The following is a sneaky way to totally catch your significant other off guard and make your experience unforgettable. First you must plan this event from start to finish. Of course there has to be a reason to come to Las Vegas and you can even tell the other person that it is to celebrate your anniversary. They don't have to know of this plan entirely. By contacting any of the wedding planners listed on the Weddings page, you will find the same activity as a normal wedding. But we are going to twist it a bit. Do not tell your spouse of this planning! Order one of the online packages and make sure you get one that provides limousine service. A good one is the Little White Wedding Chapel at www.alittlewhitechapel.com and their Romantic's Package. You must ask for the Limosine in advance. A phone call will help you here. The preference is that you are within 5 miles, but any hotel/Casino on the strip is within that limit. Arrange to have you and your spouse meet where taxis pick you up. Tell your spouse that you heard that a significant celebrity is going to be coming in by way of limo at the pre-designated time and you wanted to get a glimpse. Make sure it is someone your spouse would care to see. Another version is that a friend of yours is also coming to Vegas at the same time and you are going to meet with them briefly and that you really want your spouse to meet this person. Or finally, make something up that makes sense. Don't tell me you have never told a little white fib to your spouse before. Now for the most important thing. Don't plan this for right after you get off the plane. Make it for the next day. This way, you can hint at getting your spouse to wear something nice. Maybe you can say you plan to take them to a nice place to celebrate. Or you could say nothing and allow the ceremony to take place in jeans and a t-shirt, but be warned, your spouse may not like the pictures and will be mad if you dressed up and they didn't (I know I did this!). Something casual should be fine. Did I mention that you are not to say anything about a limo. Call the driver in advance (get the drivers number from the chapel) and tell her what you are wearing and exactly where you will be standing (if you can spot it in advance). When the limo pulls up, your spouse will be in shock when the driver gets out and calls your name. When you are in the limo, your spouse will be in shock. This is the best part so allow the shock to take place. Because you set everything up in advance, the chapel will be waiting for you. The photographer will be ready, flowers will be ready, etc. Your spouse will be blown away that you arranged everything in advance. Don't worry if you hear "I am going to kill you for this". They really don't mean it and they will love the surprise. Don't forget to leave about $40 to tip the driver. A good driver will tell you lots about who was married at the chapel, some history, and to help make the surprise fun. When the service is over, the driver will take you where you want to go or back to your hotel. Remember, for this surprise you won't need witnesses as they will provide them for you. Or you can invite a friend or two to come but they have to keep the secret a surprise as well. Make sure you tell us how it went after you get home. |
